thursday, AGAIN?

alright, let me start this post by saying that i am extremely ready for the fall TV season. not just because abc is rolling out that geico cavemen show. though that is exciting enough. i was just over at cavemanscrib.com, checking out some clever someone's designs for the quintessential caveman bachelor pad. pretty swanky. i especially like the bathroom in the first apartment--there's a sharp vessel sink atop a chunky cabinet turned vanity. yeah, it's been done, but it's still rad. and seriously, it's kinda hard to be totally innovative when it comes to bathrooms. a little innovation is easy enough (let's put the sink ABOVE the counter! ooooo!) but you're still dealing with a bathroom and certain parameters must be met. all in all i think the vibe is hip and masculine, but pretty classy. caveman in a nutshell, eh? those set designers are so good at manipulating impressions. PS i didn't do my browsing with sound, but i'm sure all the quips are very funny. though looking at a guy in primitive man makeup is difficult. i think it's my strong womanly instincts. i'm like, "get those unfit genes away from my eggs! i don't want that for my offspring!" i have the same reaction to steve buscemi.and matt dillon.

so there's that, and the new season of heroes, and the office, and that's what i'm depending on to get me through the fall/winter and well into spring. and then it'll summer again and i can go back to saying "this summer has gone by so fast!" and "why is it SO HOT?"

i think i mentioned in a previous post that we have been reaping the bounty of a orange tree in a vacant lot adjacent to our apartment building. the oranges are still a plenty, albeit now a little sweeter than i prefer (i dig a tangier citrus). turns out there's also a massive avocado tree in the same yard. i recall suspecting it was such, but until it got fruit on it we had no proof. i'm keeping my eye on it now, totally ready to hop the fence as soon as they start dropping. so yeah, i'm pretty much living next door to the garden of eden. let's all cross our fingers and hope that demo doesn't start too soon. i will cry if/when those trees get taken out.

i was going to finish up this post with a picture of a pair of yellow shoes i got over the weekend (very girly, i know, but let me indulge myself), but alas i have no idea where the camera that has batteries went. and i don't feel like looking for it. so no shoes picture today. wah. how's that for deprivation? here's a link instead. btw, i got them at a second-hand store, and am astonished by the original price. ASTONISHED.

always, carolyn
